Why office desks are dying out
With office rents spiralling out of control and more companies embracing the ‘coffee shop culture,’ the staple desk could be dying a death.
Our very own sister company Sketch Studios, the UK’s leading office furniture company, was quizzed in today’s City AM around the need for more agile working and gave advice on the fact that employees don’t need to be stationed behind a desk to be productive.
Sketch were quoted that a third of its clients opt for desks for just 60% of their staff, leaving the remaining area flexible. Workers are calling for more collaborative spaces, such as coffee shop style booths and social hubs, which encourage knowledge sharing and generate greater levels of interaction.
