Fourfront CEO speaks at business event
Clive Lucking, CEO of Fourfront Group, joined a panel of business leaders last week to discuss current challenges and opportunities faced by their companies at the Lloyds Bank ‘Gameplan’ event.
More than 50 influential business figures attended the event, which is part of a national campaign to offer advice to UK business. The evening included a panel debate featuring Clive alongside former BBC Breakfast presenter Declan Curry, CFO of Park Holidays, Al Loch, and CEO of Hobbycraft, Catriona Marshall.
The event brought together business leaders, policymakers, professionals and academics to discuss a range of issues facing southern-based businesses, including business growth, finance and funding, and talent and innovation. The evening, held at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey, aimed to give attendees a chance to ‘get ahead of the game’ and share expertise and hear first-hand experiences from their business peers.
The results of the discussion were extremely interesting. During the evening, out of those questioned, 40% said they believe lack of infrastructure holds back growth, 26% said increasing pay is a way to improving productivity, and 70% said they have a five-year plan.
Clive Lucking said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, it was a great opportunity to get together with other businesses in the region to discuss what they see as their challenges for the future. In my opinion, the best advice for business leaders is to always surround yourself with positive people, as this makes a real difference to any organisation.”
